Winston Hill, a veteran of 16 years as a player and scout in the National Football League, was regarded as one of the greatest offensive lineman ever to attend Texas Southern University. A football star during the 1959-1962 season, the Gladewater, Texas native earned All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honors three of his four seasons. Hill gained national attention as a member of the New York Jets because of his outstanding blocking ability as he protected the great Joe Namath; the team's heralded quarterback. Hill captained the Jets for 11 years also serving as the NFL player representative for many years. As a Jet, Hill started 197 consecutive games and was selected to play in eight Pro Bowl Games. He will be inducted into the 2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame.
