William "Rock" Glosson has just about run the full gamut in the world of college athletics from being a student-athlete, a head coach of two sports, an assistant athletics director and an athletics director. As a football player at Texas Southern University in the late 1950s, Glosson reaped all-conference honors in 1956, 1957 and 1958 as well as All-America honors in 1957 and 1958. His top individual performance included 22 catches for 270 yards in one game in 1958. He also served as an assistant football coach at TSU, an assistant athletic director, athletic director and golf coach, winning SWAC coach of the year honors in 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1978.
