Joshua Brown, Braylon Carr and Ahmad Muhammad punched tickets to the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's & Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships First Round next weekend in Fayetteville, Ark.
This marks the first-ever bid for the men's track & field trio.
A freshman from New Orleans, La., Brown was as good as advertised as a true freshman, as his time of 10.24 at the SWAC Outdoor Championships ranked 48th in the west region. Brown posted his lowest times of the year at SWAC, running 10.3 in the prelims and 10.24 in the finals. Brown's quest kicks off Wednesday evening at 7 p.m., and he'll run on Friday at 6:35 p.m. if he advances to the quarterfinals.
Muhammad, a Tomball, Texas native, is having a career season, as his 50-10.25 mark in the triple jump at the SWAC Outdoor Championships was a personal-best outdoor length and ranks 45th in the west region. Carr, who hails from The Woodlands, Texas, ranks 46th in the west after jumping an outdoor-best 50-10 at the SWAC Championships.
Both Carr and Muhammad will compete on Friday at 6 p.m.
At stake is a berth to the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Ore., which runs June 10-13. To qualify, the top 24 in individual events from the first round advance to the quarterfinals. The top 12 from the quarterfinals advance to Eugene, Ore.
