Track & Field Teams Wrap Up Busy Weekend In Central Texas

The TSU track and field teams wrapped up a busy weekend as they competed at both the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational.

Joshua Brown ran a career-best 10.37 in the 100-meter dash at the Texas Relays to place ninth overall and second in the SWAC. Ahmad Muhammad placed fifth in the triple jump with a length of 49-11.2 feet which ranks second in the SWAC. Braylon Carr placed eighth in the same event after jumping 48-3.5 feet.

At the Bobcat Invitational at Texas State, Donovon Books scored a total of 6,173 points in the decathlon to place sixth overall which was a career-best mark. He ascended into the top six of the SWAC in the pole vault (13-1.5), javelin (149-3) while ranking second in the decathlon.

Competing at the Texas Relays on the women's side, Desirae Roberts logged a time of 1:00.24 in the 400-meter hurdles as it marked a career-best time and second in the SWAC.

At the Bobcat Invitational at Texas State, Cesley Williams ran 54.13 in the 400 as she placed third overall and currently ranks third in the SWAC.

Car'De Moore placed seventh in the 100 while Demaya Malone moved to fifth in the SWAC after posting a personal-best mark of 5-3 in the high jump. A'Keela McMaster moved to third in the SWAC in the heptathlon as she posted a personal-best score of 4,218 points which ranks third in the SWAC.

Both teams return to action at the 44 Farms Team Invitational hosted by Texas A&M on April 9-11 at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station.
