Cesley Williams won the 400 and the mile relay won its event as TSU women's track & field had 15, top 10 marks at the annual J Fred Duckett/Rice Twilight Meet this past weekend.
Car'De Moore ran 11.87 to place fourth in the 100 while Erica Grant placed 10th in the same event. Grant also finished 10th in the 200 while Hannah Stoudmire ran in another section of the 100 and placed seventh overall.
Cesley Williams won the 400 in a time of 54.24 while Bayli George ran 56.29 to place fifth. Laci Johnon placed ninth (16.10) in the 100-meter hurdles while Desirae Roberts ran 1:03.34 to place fourth in the 400-meter hurdles. Katherine Canchola set a personal-best mark of 11:42.3 during a ninth-place finish in the steeplechase and ranks second in the SWAC.
The mile relay of George, Roberts, Kennedy Mosley and Williams won the event with a mark of 3:42.97 as it ranks fifth in the SWAC.
Demaya Malone ascended to second in the SWAC as she jumped a personal-best height of 5-5.25 in the high jump while placing fourth. Destinee Payne finished sixth (17-11) in the long jump while Kennedy Brown (37-11.25) and Callie Fisher (35-9.5) placed fourth and seventh, respectively in the triple jump. Kennedy Haynes (132-9) and Bria Lawson (131-2).
TSU is back in action this weekend at Texas A&M.
