COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Katherine Canchola ran the SWAC's fastest time in the steeplechase as the women's track & field team posted four top-10 marks at the 44 Farms Invitational held at Texas A&M.
Canchola finished second overall in the steeplechase with a personal-best time of 11:52.16. Cesley Williams ran the SWAC's sixth-fastest time in the 200 (23.76) while Stacy Guerrero ran the eighth-fastest time in the 5,000 after completing the race in a time of 18:59.04, which was good for 10th.
Demaya Malone jumped a personal-best 5-4.25 feet to place 10th in the high jump, while Destinee Payne placed ninth (39-6.5) in the triple jump.
TSU is back in action next weekend at the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational, Friday and Saturday at the University of Houston.
