The TSU women's track and field team had several strong performances at both the PV Relays and Victor Lopez Classic in Houston.
Competing at the Victor Lopez Classic, Cesley Williams ran the SWAC's fourth-best time in the 400 as she placed second in the event with a mark of 54.21. Bayli Geroge followed with a seventh-place finish of 57.17.
Car'De Moore placed ninth in the 100 with a time of 12.25 while Alyvia Brown ran 4:37.71 to place ninth and third in the SWAC. Katherine Canchola ran a personal-best 18:44:29 in the 5,000 to place sixth and ranks fourth in the SWAC.
The mile relay of Desirae Roberts, Kennedy Mosley, Bayli George and Cesley Williams ran 3:48.60 to place fourth.
At the PV Relays, Jordan Flowers threw 8-05 to place fifth in the pole vault while Diamond Barrett and Demaya Malone tied for fifth in the high jump with marks of 5-1. Â Destinee Payne jumped a personal-best 12-5 to place fifth in the triple jump.
Bria Lawson threw a personal-best 39-7.25 feet as she placed sixth in the shot put while Kennedy Haynes logged a mark of 135 feet to place fourth in the discus followed by Lawson's sixth-place throw of 128-1. Haynes placed fifth in the hammer (138-8) while Flowers posted a personal-best mark of 103-5 to place third in the javelin.
TSU is back in action this week at both the Texas and Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State.
