HUMBLE, Texas – Texas Southern women's track & field kicked off the 2026 indoor season with six first-place marks at the 74th annual TSU Relays on Saturday.
Alyvia Brown picked up where she left off from indoor season with a personal-best first-place run of 2:17.56 in the 800. Jonae Richardson placed third as she ran a personal-best time of 2:24.52. Brown also won the 1,500-meter run as she clocked a time of 4:45.68 while Katherine Canchola (5:05.82) and Stacy Guerrero (5:24.70) placed third and sixth, respectively.
Canchola (19:34.19) finished second in the 5,000 followed by Guerrero (19:39.29), Kamara Bradley (19:59.19) and Jessica Williams (23:30.67). Diamond Barrett finished fifth in in the 100-meter hurdles (20.11) while Desirae Roberts won the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.04). Tyeler Moore ran 1:10.71 to place second in the same event.
Ryann Richards jumped 9-6.25 feet to place second in the pole vault, while Callie Fisher won the long jump with a mark of 17-1.5 feet. Destinee Payne (16-11.5), Kennedy Brown (16-7.75), A'Keela McMaster (15-11.75), and Kalyn Washington (13-2.75) finished second, fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively, in the long jump.
Brown finished second in the triple jump as she jumped 36-11 while Kennedy Haynes finished third in the shot put after throwing 36-9. A'Keela McMaster (34-2.75), Barrett (29-7.25) and Demaya Malone (25-2.5) finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively in the shot put.
Haynes won the discus with a career-best mark of 126-8 followed by Bria Lawson (118-6) in second and Mikayla Ball (118-3) in third. Ball won the hammer with a career-best mark of 134-8 while Haynes placed third (125-8) and Lawson fourth (123-11.)
TSU is back in action next week at the Victor Lopez Relays at Rice University, as the meet spans from Thursday to Sunday.
