Chris Johnson and Michael Strange, Jr. won their respective events at the Howie Ryan Invitational this past weekend at the University of Houston.
Michael Strange, Jr. won the 600-yard dash in a personal-best time of 1:10.39 and also set a Yeoman Field House record in the event. Anthony Momon-Lattimore rounded out the top 10 sprint marks as he ran a personal-best time of 21.89 to place eighth in the 200.
Johnson won the triple jump with a personal-best length of 49-7.25 feet that ranks fifth in the SWAC. Babacar Diop jumped 21-11.5 in the long jump for a 10th-place finish while Jalen Walker threw 57-0.25 feet in the weight throw for a sixth-place finish and the SWAC's fourth-best mark.
TSU turns its attention to SWAC this weekend on Feb. 21-22 in Birmingham, Ala.
