BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – TSU had six top-eight finishes at the Samford Invitational on Friday.
Michael Strange placed seventh in the 800 and moved to third in the SWAC after a personal-best run of 1:55.48 while Donyea Jarmon (8.2) and Tedrick Robinson (8.52) placed fifth and eighth, respectively. The mile relay of Kaseem Braheem-Washington, Patrick Goodman, Kacy Kincade and Strange, Jr. placed seventh in a time of 3:17.69.
Chris Johnson finished second in the long jump with a mark of 23-6.25 while Babacar Diop placed sixth after a jump of 22-9.25. Ahmad Muhammad placed third in the triple jump with an indoor-best mark of 49-4.25 and moved to third in the SWAC. Jalen Walker finished fifth in the weight throw after a length of 56-4.75 which moved to second in the SWAC.
Even though he didn't place in the top eight, pole vaulter Adam Hines posted the SWAC's best mark of 15-5.5 feet.
TSU is back in action at the FasTrack Indoor Invitational at the University of Houston on Saturday.
