Brown Starts Season Off Strong, Women's Track Has 8, Top 10 Marks In Season Opener

The TSU women's track & field team had eight top-10 marks during its season opener Saturday.

Alyvia Brown placed fourth in the mile with a mark of 5:05 and ran a personal and SWAC- best 10:05:01 in the 3,000 while she ranks second in the SWAC in the mile. Cesley Williams finished seventh in the 600-yard race (1:30.74) followed by Jonae Richardson in ninth (1:32.30) and Kennedy Mosley (1:32.25).

Diamond Barrett jumped 5-1 to place seventh in the high jump while Ashlyn Bruce finished sixth (18-1) in the long jump. Alexis Wilson jumped a length of 38-7.5 to finish seventh in the triple jump.

The team is back in action at the Samford Invitational on Jan. 15.
