Brooks Places 2nd In 400, Women’s Track & Field Has 14 Top-10 Finishes At Cameron Burrell Alumni Invitational

Shelby Brooks placed second in the 400 as the TSU women's track & field team started a busy weekend at the Cameron Burrell Alumni Invitational in Houston.
 
Brooks was TSU's top finisher on the day as she placed second in the 400 after running 56.11. Bayli George (57.71), Tardranique London (57.97) and Madison Dominguez (58.22) finished 7-8-9 as George and London posted personal bests.
 
Kayla Jenkins (15.35) and Lyriq Ray (15.97) placed 9-10 in the 100-meter hurdles while Lillie Burnet placed fifth in the 100 (12.23).
 
Dominguez and London tied for sixth as both jumped 4-9.75 in the high jump. Jasmine Walker placed eighth with a mark of 4-6.
 
Phylan Perkins finished fifth in the javelin after a throw of 86-6 and also placed fifth in the hammer (171-8). Skyla Faux was seventh in the javelin after a throw of 70-3 and finished ninth in the hammer (140-7).
 
TSU will participate at the Pelican Relays at Southern on Saturday.
