MONTGOMERY, Texas – The Texas Southern men's golf team posted a two-round total of 615 to finish in 14th place after day one of the Bentwater Intercollegiate hosted by Sam Houston State University on Monday.
Freshman Tristan Garrett leads the way for the Tigers following his 5-over-par 147 (69 – 78) day one finish which included a 2-under-par opening round. Garrett posted five birdies, 23 pars, six bogeys, and two doubles throughout the day.
Freshman Yashal Shah is three shots back following his 8-over-par total of 150 (77 – 73). Senior, Kci Lindskog posted a 159 (81 – 78) total for day 1.
The Bentwater Intercollegiate is being held at the Bentwater Yacht & Country Club on the Miller Course. The final round of the tournament commences on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
