FLOWOOD, Miss. - The Texas Southern men's golf team is currently tied for second place (579 (289 – 290) following the opening rounds of the inaugural TheeiLove Men's Collegiate hosted by Jackson State University.
Junior Yashal Shah had a career-low opener with his 5-under-par 139 (67 – 72). Shah's fiery 5-under-par 67 first round included eight birdies, seven pars, and three bogeys, while his even-par 72 second round included three birdies, 12 pars, and 3 bogeys. He is currently tied in first place individually.
Sophomore Javier Vazques is tied for ninth place on one-over 145 (73 – 72), while freshman Kingston Harper is one stroke back on 146 (73 -73). Senior Bradley Lavinier (75 – 76) and freshman Justin Tang (76 – 75) sit on 151. Freshman Lawson Heffernan is one stroke back after shooting a 152 (79 – 73) while junior Ricardo Pham posted a 157 (83 – 74).
The TheeiLove Invitational is hosted at The Refuge Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course in Flowood, Miss. The final round will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
