Box Score NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin softball team scored 15 runs en route to defeating the Texas Southern Lady Tigers 15-3 in five innings at the SFA Softball Field.
The Ladyjacks used eight hits and a Lady Tiger error to post 11 runs in the bottom half of the fourth inning which proved to be the deciding stretch of the contest.
The Lady Tigers scored a run in the top half of the first inning on a Chanler Powell sac fly but the Ladyjacks responded with a two run first inning of their own.
TSU put up two more runs in the third to regain the lead 3-2 but SFA surged ahead with two more runs in the bottom half of the inning 4-3.
After the Ladyjacks' 11-run fourth inning extended the advantage to 15-3, TSU got one more chance in the fifth but the Lady Tigers were unable to mount a comeback attempt.
