SUWANEE, Ga. – The Texas Southern women's Golf team sits in third place following their 313 opening round at the 41st Annual Thomas W. Dortch Jr. HBCU Collegiate Golf Classic, hosted by the Black College Golf Coaches Association on Monday.
Junior Abiha Syed leads the way for the Tigers with her two-over-par opening round of 74. Syed posted one birdie, 14 pars, and three bogeys during her round, which has her in third place individually. Senior Thaiz Amezcua and junior Daniah Syed sit four strokes back as both are tied for 12th place following their six-over-par 78 round one totals. Sophomore Carmen Pate finished 11-over-par while Zufan Girard was two strokes back at 13-over-par for the day.
The Tigers' final round of the 41st Annual Thomas W. Dortch Jr. HBCU Collegiate Golf Classic will be a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Bear's Best Atlanta Golf Club in Suwanee, Ga.
