WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Texas Southern women's golf team posted a team total of 939 (310 - 316 - 313) to finish third at the PGA Works Collegiate Championship on Wednesday.
Junior Thaiz Amezcua had a big day as she recorded her first individual win with the Tigers following her 10-over-par 223 (74 - 76 - 73). Amezcua's even-par final round included two birdies, 12 pars, and four bogeys.
Freshman Carmen Pate finished tied for 11th after shooting a 233 (77 - 80 - 76) while Zufan Girard posted scores of 78, 81, and 84, respectively. Junior Shawnise Gregory finished with a 240 (81 - 79 - 88) while graduating senior Azul Amezcua shot a total of 251 (81 - 90 - 80).
The PGA Works Collegiate Championship took place at The Park and featured Alabama State, Chicago State University, North Carolina A&T State, North Carolina Central, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and Texas Southern.
The PGA Works Collegiate Championship concludes the Tigers' postseason, and their 2026-2027 season begins in the fall.
