PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — Texas Southern jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, rolling to a 13–0 shutout victory over Prairie View on Friday afternoon at Tankersley Field in a SWAC matchup.
The Tigers scored three runs in the first inning and continued to apply pressure throughout, piling up 15 hits while holding Prairie View to just three hits on the day.
Texas Southern wasted no time offensively, plating three runs in the opening frame highlighted by RBI singles from Jonathan Trejo and Byron Robinson. The Tigers added another run in the second before breaking the game open with a three‑run third inning, fueled by a two‑run error and an RBI double from Zachari Pace to take a 7–0 lead.
Christopher Chavez led the Tigers' attack, going 4‑for‑5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
