DULUTH, Ga. – The Texas Southern women's golf team posted a three-day total of 934 (307 – 314 – 313) for a 4th place finish at the Bridgestone HBCU Invitational on Wednesday.
Junior, Shawnise Gregory was the top scorer for the Tigers as she tied for seventh after her 12-over-par finish. Gregory finished 4-over par in her final round to give her a 228 (77 – 75 - 76) total.
Freshman Carmen Pate posted a 234 (76 – 79 - 79) to finish in 14th place in her first collegiate event. Senior Azul Amezcua finished two shots back with a 236 (78 – 77 - 81). Junior, Thaiz Amezcua, started her journey as a Tiger with a 16th-place tie after shooting 239 (79 – 83 – 77). Freshman Zufan Girard posted a 240 total (76 – 83 - 81).
The Tigers are back in action Sept. 21-23 when they compete in the Thomas W. Dortch Jr. Golf Classic Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Ga.
