BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – The Texas Southern University Women's Golf Team posted a three-day total of 961 (323 – 327 – 311) to finish in second place following at the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Golf Championship on Wednesday. The SWAC Golf Championship was hosted at Robert Trent Jones Trail: Oxmoor Valley.
Freshman Carmen Pate was the top scoring Tiger and finished in 4th place individually on 234 (80 – 80 - 74). Pate's two-over-par final round consisted of four birdies, nine pars, and four bogies or more. She also secured the Freshman Low Medalist honors for her performance.
Senior Azul Amezcua (81 – 86 – 73) and junior Thaiz Amezcua (79 – 80 - 82) tied in 10th place on 241. Junior Shawnise Gregory finished strokes back on 245 (83 – 81 – 81).

The SWAC Championship concludes the Tigers' regular season. They return to the links in a few weeks as they gear up to compete in the 2026 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship (PWCC), which will be played May 4-6 at The Park in West Palm Beach, Florida.
