• The Texas Southern women's basketball team is back in action for its non-conference matchup at West Virginia tonight at 6 p.m. CST.

• TSU returns two starters: Daeja Holmes and Aaliyah Henderson, and one letterwinner: Maci Quiller, from last season while adding nine newcomers to the roster during the offseason.

• Head Coach Vernette Skeete enters her fourth season at TSU. Last season, she guided the Tigers to a 14–4 SWAC record, finishing tied for second place and reaching the SWAC Tournament semifinals—a dramatic turnaround from her first two seasons (9–49 overall).

• Under Skeete, TSU made its first-ever postseason appearance last season, hosting a historic WNIT game at TSU and advancing to the second round before falling to Louisiana Tech.

• TSU was picked to finish fourth in the SWAC's Preseason Poll and will rely heavily on leadership from Holmes and Henderson while integrating nine newcomers into the rotation.

• TSU averages 39.0% FG, 24.4% 3PT, and 21 turnovers per game, making ball control a key factor against WVU's aggressive defense.

• This marks the first year both teams will play.

• WVU averages 79.7 PPG and forces 22.6 turnovers per game, making them one of the most aggressive defensive teams in the Big 12.

• Head Coach Mark Kellogg enters his third season at WVU, already leading the program to back-to-back 25-win seasons—the best two-year start in program history.

• WVU has a +20.3 scoring margin at home and remains unbeaten against non–Power 5 opponents since 2012.
