Football Adds 6 On 1st Day Of Early Signing Period

Texas Southern head football coach Cris Dishman has secured the signatures of six student-athletes after the first day of the early football signing period of the 2025-26 campaign.
 
The Tigers continued their tradition of seeking out and securing the signatures of several talented high schoolers early on with four from the senior class of 2026. Dishman and staff also went for immediate help with two junior college student-athletes who'll be available for spring drills next semester.
 
With the new recruiting calendar in effect, the Tigers will remain active over the next few months as the early signing period ends Dec. 5. The transfer portal window is active from Jan. 2-16 followed by the annual National Signing Day on Feb. 4.

Richard Clark       WR      5-9       170      Mesquite, Texas (West Mesquite)
District 6-5A MVP as a senior…caught 43 receptions for 722 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2025…earned back-to-back District 6-5A First Team honors…led team to the regional semifinals as they finished 11-2 with a undefeated district mark…helped team win 22 games over the past two seasons…earned multiple Offenisve player of the Week honors by various publications.

Junior college standout that's projected to participate in spring drills…passed for 1,487 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore…had three games with three touchdown passes and also has the ability to run the ball with nearly 300 rushing yards and four touchdowns…played high school at Tupelo High School and was named The Daily Journal's Offensive Player of the Year…earned all-state honors and participated in the 2023 MS?AL North-South All-Star Game.

Rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, 247Sports and ESPN.com…three-and-a-half star recruit by the QB Hit List…younger brother of former NFL running back Adrian Peterson…three-year starter who spent two seasons at Forney High Schol and another at Sunnyvale…dual-threat athlete who has passed for over 5,000 career yards and helped lead team to the Class 6A Regional Semifinals.

Named 15-6A First Team offensive lineman as a senior…earned second team honors as a junior…projects to play tackle on the college level.

Named the District 17-6A First Team after his senior season…caught 10 touchdown passes while recording 34 receptions for 472 yards…caught 35 receptions for 491 yards and five touchdowns as a junior…also plays basketball.

Charleston Waugh        DL      6-4       290      Oakland, Calif. (College of San Mateo)
Plays for the No. 2 ranked junior college in California…defensive unit leads the state in total defense yielding only 195.9 yards per contest…projected to enroll in the spring and participate in spring drills…team is still playing postseason football with an appearance in the Northern California Football Regional Finals on Dec. 6…had four tackles against American River and three against Diablo Valley…helped team win the 2024 3C2A State Football Championship with a 12-1 mark…named to the Dean's List.
