FLOWOOD, Miss. – The Texas Southern University women's golf team ended the first round in first after day one of the 2023 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Golf Championships. The Tigers lead the field by 11 strokes.
Sophomore, Dili Sitanonth is a co-leader for the tournament following her 3-over 75 opening round. Sitanonth carded three birdies and nine pars and is tied for first place with Alabama State's Thayika Kittiyanaruewat.
Junior Ashlie Hobbs is tied for third with her 5-over 78 while sophomore Miness Siame is tied fr fifth after her 7-over 79 round.
The competing teams are playing at the Refuge Golf Club, a 6,115-yard par-72 championship course. The Tigers tee up for the second round of the SWAC Championships Tuesday morning with an 8:00 am start.
