AUSTIN - It was a tale of two halves as the TSU soccer team fell at No. 20 Texas Thursday night.
The first half saw UT claim possession of the ball early on with three goals scored within the first 14 minutes of the match. After 15 minutes of scoreless action, the Longhorns closed out the first half with four additional goals.
The Tigers pushed their defense in the second half with two shot attempts within minutes of each other by Melissa Knutson and Kaila Smith. TSU would only allow one goal in the half for the final outcome.
Goalie Jaidyn Christophe showcased true grit throughout the match as she faced 32 shots with 21 saves.
The Tigers gear up for a three-leg matchup at home starting Sunday when they take on Texas A&M-San Antonio. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. inside Durley Stadium and features free admission.
