ABILENE, Texas - For the second straight game, the TSU soccer team fought to the end in a 1-0 loss on Sunday at Abilene Christian.

The TSU offense set the tone early as several underclassmen created early opportunities with three shots by Kaila Smith and shots from Victoria Pucci and Melissa Knutson within the first 20 minutes. TSU goalie Jaidyn Christophe had three early saves but ACU punched in the game's first goal 19 minutes into the contest. Both teams played a scoreless half from that point as Smith add a late shot while Christophe had three saves.

TSU's defense held its own in the second half as they withstood 12 shots and nine corner kicks from ACU. Offensively, TSU had one chance in the final minute to tie the game but Pucci's shot didn't connect.

Smith had five shots with three on goal while Pucci added two. Christophe finished with eight saves.
