HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Junior outside hitter Thalia Cordero Moreno was named to the 2021 All-SWAC Team on the eve of the SWAC Volleyball Tournament at Alabama A&M.
The junior from Pearland had a solid regular season for TSU as she started 28 of 29 matches and led the team offensively with 256 points. She registered 232 kills (2.39 k/s) and had seven games with double-digit kills as her season high was 20 against Niagara. Cordero Moreno was also solid with serving as she logged 19 aces.
Defensively, Cordero Moreno was just as good as she led TSU with 250 digs (2.58 d/s). She posted 13 games with double-digit digs with a high of 18 (twice) against Southern (8/27 & 9/27). Cordero Moreno also earned All-Tournament honors at Arizona Wildcat Classic.
TSU opens tournament play at 11 a.m. tomorrow against Jackson State. The single elimination tournament will be streamed live on YouTube's SWAC Digital Network.
