BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – TSU men's golf recorded a third-place finish at the Birmingham Spring Invitational earlier this week.
 
The Tigers had a strong opening round as they finished in second place after the first day of action. The team finished four shots off the top score in round two as the contest came down to the wire. TSU finished with a two-day total of 591 which was only five strokes away from the top score.
 
Tanner Skiles was the top golfer for TSU as he finished tied for seventh after a two-day total of 147 (+3). He opened the tournament shooting 72 and followed with a 75 in the final round. Teammate Devansh Chadha was on Skiles' heels with a seventh-place tie as Chadha also shot a 72 and 75. Grant Everson rounded out TSU's top 10 performers as he placed ninth overall. Everson closed out the tournament strong as he tied for the lowest score of the day with a 71 in round two.
 
TSU is back in action Monday, Feb. 23 at the Hank Stewart Collegiate in Houston.
