TEMPE, Arizona – Arizona State's Zylan Cheatham registered a triple double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to help lead ASU to a 83-71 victory over Texas Southern on Saturday.
Texas Southern's Devocio Butler registered 18 points, three assists, three steals. Jalyn Patterson added 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Justin Hopkins scored 13 with six boards and Derrick Bruce chipped in with 12 points.
TSU trailed 40-32 at intermission, for the game the Tigers shot 35.8 percent from the field while ASU shot 55.4 percent overall.
Texas Southern will travel to face SEC opponent Georgia on Monday, December 3 at 6:00 pm in Athens, Ga.
