MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Texas Southern racked up its first victory of the season with a straight-set win over North Carolina A&T at the ISTAP Collegiate Cup 1 tournament.
TSU (1-3) limited NCAT to a -.041 hitting percentage on the match, as the Aggies committed more attack errors than kills in the contest (31-27).
Down 12-11 in the first set, Texas Southern closed out the set on a 14-3 scoring outburst. The momentum carried into set two, where the Lady Tigers led by as many as 11 at one point (19-8) before staving off scoring charges by the Aggies.
Another 14-3 run by TSU wiped out a 11-10 disadvantage and ultimately lifted the Lady Tigers to the win.
Kali Fluke had another double-digit kill total, putting down 11 on a .611 attack percentage. She added four blocks. Audriana Carson chipped in six kills and six digs.
