DALLAS, Texas – Dallas Baptist outlasted Texas Southern 15-9 on Tuesday at Horner Ballpark.
DBU (5-3) posted 11 runs on Texas Southern (3-6) in four innings on 12 hits, including two triples and a double, and four base on balls.
The Patriots' Justin Wall went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and four RBI in the victory.
Texas Southern (3-6) had back-to-back big innings in the fifth and sixth. The Tigers were led by Sydney Daley's 2-for-5 day at the plate, collecting two RBI and scoring three runs.
One of Daley's RBI-doubles came in the fifth, energizing the Tigers' offense. In the sixth, Daley drew a bases-loaded walk then came around to score on Jeremy Thomas' single down the line.
The Tigers added two more runs in the eighth on one hit, three walks and a DBU miscue.
DBU starter M.D. Johnson (1-0) allowed one hit, two walks and four strikeouts in three innings on the hill in the win.
TSU pitcher Aaron McIntyre (0-1) gave up nine runs on 10 hits, walked three and struck out two in the loss.
