Box Score HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Lady Tigers got into the winners column on Sunday night with a thrilling 1-0 victory over St. Thomas at Durley Field in front of an energetic TSU home crowd.
After battling through two 45 minute periods without any scores the Lady Tigers got on the board in the 95
th minute on a golden goal by Marlyn Campa.
"We couldn't be happier to come out here tonight in front of our home crowd and get a win," said TSU head coach Kathryn Saunders. "It feels great to work hard all through camp and come out tonight with a win. We hope to use this momentum to kick start us forward for the rest of the season."
Texas Southern was clearly the aggressor for the majority of game as they outshot St. Thomas 8-5 while also setting the tempo of the contest with their fearless play and tenacity.
The Lady Tigers will now get set to travel to Beaumont for another non-conference match-up versus the Lamar Cardinals on August 28
