Second half goal lifts HBU to 1-0 win over Texas Southern

HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Lady Tigers soccer team opened the 2015 season with a non-conference game versus HBU. The Huskies scored a goal in the second half to claim a 1-0 win over the Lady Tigers.

Four different Lady Tigers had a shot, while Marlyn Campa and Paige Hayward each registered a shot on goal. Liliana Hernandez took the loss despite making seven saves.

The match was delayed an hour and 40 minutes due to rain and lightning.HBU got on the board in the 62nd minute and held on to that narrow margin for the victory.

Texas Southern will host its home opener on Sunday, August 22nd versus St. Thomas at 7:00 pm at Durley Field.
