NEW ORLEANS, La. – Grambling State University upset Texas Southern University to advance to the SWAC baseball tournament semifinals. The Tigers will play the winner of the Alcorn State, Texas Southern game at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
TSU's Zach Howell finished with a game-high three hits and had the only multi-hit night on the team.
Grambling State opened the game by taking a 4-0 lead in the first inning.
Texas Southern loaded the bases in the top of the ninth inning but were unable to score any runs as GSU held off the Tigers for the win.
