Carter and Griffin headline TSU All-SWAC Selections

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas Southern senior punter Cory Carter and red shirt freshman Derrick Griffin were both selected to the 2015 Southwestern Athletic Conference teams today. Postseason honors are voted on by league media, head coaches and SID's.  
 
For the past two seasons Carter has been the top punter in the league in yards per punt. He ranks 3rd in the NCAA in yards per punt while ranking 1st in the SWAC. Carter averages 45.3 yards per punt. He was 2015 All-SWAC First Team Preseason Selection at punter.
 
Griffin has been one of the most productive receivers in the Southwestern Athletic Conference this year as he ranks 1^st on the team in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns a category in which he also leads the league.
 
He tallied 713 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. Nearly one third of his total receptions have gone for scores with a long TD reception of 71 yards this season.

In his debut campaign Griffin had three games this season in which he hauled in two or more touchdown catches. He grabbed three touchdowns in a single game twice this season while ranking 5^th in the NCAA in touchdown receptions.
