HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Lady Tigers volleyball team defeated the Southern Jaguars 3-1 on Friday at the HPE Arena in front of an energetic home crowd.
TSU was led in kills by Audriana Carson and Kali Fluke as the duo registered 12 and 11 kills respectively.
Texas Southern won the first set 25-17 before SU rallied to take set two by a score of 24-26. TSU closed out the match by winning sets three and four 25-22 and 25-21 respectively.
"This was a good win for our team," said TSU head coach Jocelyn Adams. "Southern is very well coached and they play with a lot of passion. We matched their intensity today and we played with drive and focus."
Texas Southern will get set to wrap up regular season conference play at home as they host rival Prairie View A&M Tuesday.Â
