Lady Tigers sweep Prairie View A&M on Senior Day

Box Score HOUSTON ­– The Texas Southern Lady Tigers sent two seniors out on a high note as TSU swept Prairie View A&M in straight sets with score of 25-15, 25-8, and 25-20.
 
Robyn Shannon knocked down a match-high 13 kills to lead Texas Southern (12-17), which officially clinched the Southwestern Athletic Conference's West Division with a 6-1 league record and one match to left to play.
  
The Lady Tigers used 9-0 runs early in each of the first two sets to cruise to a 2-0 win. TSU held its visitors to a -.196 hitting percentage (two kills against seven errors on 26 attempts) in the second set.
 
After Texas Southern held its Senior Night festivities with seniors Shannon and Lauren Smith, TSU took the third and final set by scoring six of the final nine points of the set.
 
The Lady Tigers hit .444 for the match while holding Prairie View A&M to .086 hitting percentage.
 
Texas Southern will now look towards closing out conference play with a road tilt versus Grambling State.
