LORMAN, Miss. - The Texas Southern University volleyball team managed a road split after a dominant straight-set victory over Alcorn State, 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-16) Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers controlled the match from the opening serve as they took a 16-6 lead and never looked back en route to a 25-13 win. The Tigers continued to apply pressure in the second set, turning a 6-5 set into a 14-5 lead, but ASU closed the gap to 15-10 after a brief surge. Morgynne McQueen's kill and block moved the needle back to TSU as they closed out the set in style with a 10-1 run to win 25-11.

In set three TSU once again turned an early lead (5-4) into a large cushion following an 8-2 run. The Braves managed to get within 16-11 but Lauren Battle keyed a 7-3 TSU run to remove any doubt as the Tigers won the set and match 25-16.

The Tigers finished with 38 kills while also recording 35 assists, 42 digs and 11 service aces. Battle had nine kills and 12 digs followed by eight kills from Selena Morales. Kadence Davison and Kennedy Walker had 17 and 13 assists, respectively.

TSU is back in action on Friday at 6 p.m. against Florida A&M inside the H&PE Arena.
