Golden Lions edge Texas Southern 38-37

HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Tigers football team dropped a 38-37 decision to Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday. The Golden Lions were able to spoil TSU's Homecoming with a last second blocked field goal which preserved a one-point lead for UAPB.

During the Tigers final drive TSU quarterback Homer Causey orchestrated a masterful march down the field putting Texas Southern into field goal range after a key completion to Larry Clark III.

"This loss hurts really bad and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth," said TSU head coach Darrell Asberry. "We should not have lost this football game. We will go back a look at the areas in which we need to improve moving forward."

Causey threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 55 yards. Daveonn Porter ran the ball for 187 yards and a touchdown before going down with an injury late in the game.

TSU host Grambling State on Saturday, Nov. 1 at BBVA Compass Stadium at 5:30 pm.
