Sarah Young joined the Texas Southern Sports Medicine department in December of 2020 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Her primary responsibilities include women’s soccer, men’s basketball and bowling.
Born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Young received her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from New Mexico State in 2016. She received her Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Texas State in 2018. While at Texas State, she provided athletic training services to Austin Youth Rugby Club, Austin Huns Rugby team, and worked two summers as the athletic trainer for UT Dive Camp.
Prior to Texas Southern, Sarah spent two years at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico overseeing the care, prevention, and rehabilitation of injuries for the volleyball, men’s basketball, and baseball teams.
Sarah is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association, Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association, Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association, and is nationally certified through the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers. She is also a Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Texas.
