Narleski Wyrick

Narleski Wyrick joined the men’s basketball program in 2010 as the academic advisor.  His responsibilities include directing and monitoring the academic progress of the men’s basketball student-athletes.

In 2008, Wyrick served as an assistant coach for the Texas Southern women’s basketball program in 2008.  His responsibilities include co-defensive coordinator, recruiting, strength and conditioning, training liaison and budgeting.

Before coming to Texas Southern, Wyrick was the head coach at Southwestern Christian College from 1999 – 2007.  He compiled more wins in his first two seasons than his predecessors had in ten years.

Wyrick helped produce several All-Conference players while competing in the Region 5 Northern Division of the NJCAA.

Wyrick played four years on the Southwestern Christian men’s basketball team.  After graduating, he got his first men’s basketball head coaching job at his alma mater.

Wyrick served as a courtside coach for the USA Basketball’s 2007 Women National Team Trials.  He was a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Kodak All-American Committee; he was nominated for Junior College WBCA Board of Directors in 2008 and he has served on several WBCA committees.

Wyrick was a Director of the National Youth Conference and in August 2006, he was a featured speaker at the 55th annual National Youth Conference of the Churches of Christ.
