Quantas Floyd returned to Texas Southern in 2011 as the Tigers defensive backs coach.  Floyd’s first stint with TSU was in 2009 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for football.  

Floyd coached football in high school before coming to Texas Southern.  He spent four years at Jefferson Davis High School in Houston where he coached the defensive backs from 2002 – 2003.  He then coached the wide receivers from 2004-2006.  In 2003, Floyd helped lead Davis to their first playoff appearance in five years.  They also had back to back playoff appearances in 2005 and 2006.  Quantas’ receivers led the district in receptions, yards and receiving touchdowns in 2005 & 2006.

In 2007, Floyd coached the defensive backs at Alief Taylor.

Floyd, a Texarkana, Arkansas native, played wide receiver for Texas Southern from 1996-1999.  He graduated Cum Laude from TSU in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.

He is married to the former Ms. Gabrielle Campbell who is an assistant volleyball coach at Texas Southern.
