Former Notre Dame football standout Armando Allen serves as the running backs coach at Texas Southern University. The 2016 season marked his first season with the Tigers football program.
He brings a wealth of playing experience to the Tigers program and has been described as one of the bright young minds in the world of College football. During his first season at with the program running back Brad Woodard had a breakout campaign towards the latter part of the season rushing for over 500 yards.
Woodard climbed up the rankings in the Southwestern Athletic Conference for a top 10 finish in rushing yards despite only seeing action in a limited number of contest. Under the guidance of Allen, Woodard tallied 3 consecutive 100 yard rushing games.
During his playing days Allen was a versatile player who was equally adept at rushing as he was at receiving. After a standout collegiate career at Notre Dame he finished ranking ninth on school list for most career all-purpose yards.
