• Texas Southern hits the road for a contest at Incarnate Word Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. in San Antonio.
• TSU's schedule features 10 non-conference contests and eight league contests. TSU has a regional friendly schedule as they won't leave the state of Texas until the start of SWAC play on Sept. 27 against UAPB.
• Picked fifth in the preseason poll, TSU finished tied for third in the SWAC with a 5-2-1 mark in head coach Danesha Adams' first season.
• Adams is 10-9-5 all-time in the month of August and 2-4-1 at TSU. However, the 2025 season came to an abrupt end in the first round of the SWAC Tournament to Alcorn State.
• The Tigers lost a large amount of letterwinners at the close of the 2025 season which sent head coach Danesha Adams into recruiting mode at the end of the year. TSU welcomes 14 newcomers and 15 letterwinners for the 2026 season.
• TSU head coach Danesha Adams faces UIW for the second time in her career as both teams finished in a scoreless draw in Houston last year.
• The series between both teams started in 2013 as UIW leads 2-1-1. TSU's last win over UIW occurred in 2019 as they claimed a 2-1 win in Houston.
• Juliette Gomez (Defensive player), Jiselle Caffey (Newcomer) and Alessandra Bastidas (goalkeeper) were recognized by the SWAC for their efforts on the field last week as TSU finished 1-1.
•TSU defender Kaia Butler was named to the 2026 AII-SWAC Preseason Second Team.
