ABILENE, Texas – The Texas Southern women's golf team posted a three-round total of 940 (310 – 305 – 325) to finish in 14th place at the West Texas Classic hosted by Abilene Christian University on Tuesday.
Junior Thaiz Amezcua was the top performer for the Tigers with her 230 (76 – 77 – 77) finish. Amezcua's seven-over-par final round consisted of two birdies, eight pars, and eight bogeys or more. Freshman Zufan Girard finished four strokes back on 234 (80 – 75 - 79) while senior Azul Amezcua carded a 236 (74 -77 – 85).
The Tigers return to action March 9-10, competing in the ASU Spring Invitational in Montgomery, Ala.
