HOUSTON — Byron Robinson continued his torrid stretch at the plate Saturday evening, powering Texas Southern to an 11–4 win over Mississippi Valley State at MacGregor Park.
Robinson delivered his second straight multi‑homer game, finishing 4-for-4 with two home runs, five RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Tigers' offense. His performance comes on the heels of Friday's breakout outing in which he recorded two home runs, a double and four RBIs.
Zachari Pace added a dominant night of his own, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored, including a home run and three doubles, as TSU surged ahead early and never looked back. The Tigers finished with 14 hits, while pitchers Jose Luccioni, Landyn Grant and Dalton Alford combined to hold MVSU to four runs on 12 hits.
With the win, Texas Southern improved to 9–10 overall and 4–1 in SWAC play, taking a 2–0 lead in the three‑game weekend series. The Tigers will look to complete the sweep Sunday at 1 p.m. at MacGregor Park.
