TSU Falls 5–4 in Back-and-Forth Battle at A&M–Corpus Christi

Texas Southern jumped ahead with a run in the first and added two more in the third, then extended its lead to 4–2 in the sixth on an RBI single from Tanner Marek. Jonathan Trejo also drove in a run and scored twice, helping fuel the Tigers' offense. Christopher Chavez turned in a strong day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4.

Collin Dennis gave the Tigers five steady innings in the start, allowing two runs on four hits before turning things over to the bullpen. The Islanders capitalized in the sixth and seventh innings, scoring three combined runs to take their first lead of the game.

A&M–Corpus Christi broke through in the seventh with a go‑ahead two‑run frame, highlighted by a two‑out RBI single from Hunter Azemar. Pierre‑Luc Jacques earned the win in relief, while Chandler Fowler recorded the final four outs to pick up the save.

Jace Maynard was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs, two earned, in 1.2 innings.

TSU threatened late, putting runners aboard in the eighth and ninth, but the Islanders held firm to close out the one‑run finish. The Tigers finished with eight hits, including a double from Shaun Williams, and turned a pair of double plays defensively.
