PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Despite a 32‑point explosion from senior guard Taliyah Logwood, Texas Southern could not overcome a strong shooting performance from Arkansas–Pine Bluff, falling 68–62 on Thursday evening at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
Logwood was electric for the Lady Tigers, finishing 13 of 22 from the field and 5 of 10 from three-point range. She scored 20 of her 32 points in the second half and single‑handedly powered a late comeback attempt, including eight straight points during a fourth‑quarter surge that cut UAPB's lead to 52–50 with 6:47 remaining.
Arkansas–Pine Bluff countered with a balanced effort led by Khaniah Gardner, who tallied 24 points on 10‑for‑13 shooting. The Golden Lions shot 48 percent from the field and scored 44 points in the paint to keep TSU at bay.
Aaliyah Henderson added 12 points, four assists, and four steals for TSU, while freshman Ayanna Jackson contributed three rebounds, three points and steady defensive minutes. Maci Quiller finished with seven points and two offensive rebounds.
TSU matched UAPB on the boards 32–37 and outscored the Golden Lions 13–12 in second‑chance points, but UAPB's timely shot-making in the final minutes, capped by a Gardner fast‑break layup with seven seconds left, sealed the game.
