Homecoming 2026 To Culminate with Tigers Battling Southern University at Reliant Stadium

Texas Southern University will celebrate Homecoming 2026 on Saturday, October 24, with the Tigers taking on Southern University at 2 p.m. at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
 
The Homecoming game will be the centerpiece of this year's celebration as Texas Southern University continues its Road to 100, leading to the University's Centennial in 2027.
The match up marks the first time since 2015 that Texas Southern University and Southern University will battle on Homecoming Weekend and the first time TSU is back inside Reliant Stadium for the first time since 2014.

The Homecoming match up will bring together two HBCU football programs with a long-standing rivalry and a shared tradition of football, marching bands and community.
 
Fans will also see performances by Texas Southern University's Ocean of Soul Marching Band and Southern University's Human Jukebox, adding the pageantry and tradition of HBCU football to the Homecoming game day experience.

Tickets for the Homecoming game are on sale now. Texas Southern encourages alumni, students, families, fans and friends to purchase tickets and make plans to be at Reliant Stadium on October 24.

Homecoming Day
Homecoming Day activities will begin with the annual Homecoming Parade at 8:30 a.m., followed by campus activities before the game.

Homecoming Week activities will take place October 18–24, with events for students, alumni, faculty, staff and the Texas Southern University community throughout the week. The complete schedule is available at tsu.edu/homecoming.
 
The University encourages all Homecoming attendees to celebrate responsibly and follow the directions of University Police, security and University personnel. Unsafe or prohibited behavior may result in removal from campus and/or referral to law enforcement.
 
Complimentary transportation is available to and from Reliant Stadium. Shuttle service will be provided from campus to the METRO rail stop at Main and Fannin, along with commemorative Mission 99 METRO passes. Bus transportation will also be available for alumni from campus to Reliant.
 
The theme for Homecoming 2026 is Mission 99: The Final Ascent to 100.  This represents the final Homecoming of Texas Southern's first century, as we prepare to exit the Road to 100 to celebrate the Centennial in 2027 and a century of education, achievement, service and impact.
