Tigers Roll Past Mississippi Valley State Behind Mortle's 22 Points

Texas Southern opened the game on a 20-4 and never looked back as they defeated Mississippi Valley State 84-51 Monday night inside the H&PE Arena.

TSU was red hot to open the game with a 20-4 run as Zaire Hayes led the way with nine points during a stretch which saw them shoot 7-of-12 overall and 5-of-9 from the three-point line. TSU finished the half shooting 51.7 percent from the field as they hit nine three-pointers.

The Tigers kept their foot on the gas in the second half as MVSU never threatened. TSU led by as much as 35 with 1:47 left as everyone who played tonight scored.
