Texas Southern led from start-to-finish as men's basketball earned its first win of the year in a 102-44 victory over College of Biblical Studies Wednesday night.
TSU opened the game on an 11-0 run while forcing four CBS turnovers. The Ambassadors finally found the scoreboard at the 14:24 mark after a free throw and managed to match TSU's production as they trailed 21-9 with 10:27 left. The Tigers would remain red hot over the next six minutes as they shot 70 percent from field (7-of-10) while forcing six turnovers en route to a 19-6 run and a 40-15 lead with 4:27 left. TSU kept the gas on the pedal as the half came to an end with another 15-4 run to end the half ahead 55-19.
The Tigers took their first half lead into the locker and continued to build on it as they led by as much as 58 in the second half. Everyone who suited up for TSU tonight would find their way into the scorer's column as Ahmed Nedal led the way with a career-high 18 points and eight rebounds. Duane Posey (17), Cam Patterson (17), Bryce Roberts (15) and Troy Hupstead (10) all finished in double figures. Hupstead had a double-double with 11 rebounds while Zytarious Mortle had five rebounds, five assists, six steals and six points.
TSU is back in action on Saturday, Dec. 6 against Sam Houston inside the H&PE Arena at 4 p.m.
